The Challenge

Our client required specialized roof repairs to address potential issues with their newly installed skylight and roof vents. The project involved elevating a roof valley and sealing various roof penetrations to prevent leaks and ensure the roof’s long-term durability. The task was critical in safeguarding the structural integrity of the roof, especially considering the need for precise modifications around the skylight and vents.

The Solution

Our team at Repair First Roofing developed a detailed plan to address the roofing challenges:

1. Roof Cleaning: We began by thoroughly cleaning the roof to prepare it for all necessary coatings and repairs. This step ensured that all materials would adhere properly and provide lasting protection.

2. Vent Flashing: We expertly flashed the newly installed vent housing to reinforce the flashing and provide additional support as needed. This process was crucial in preventing water intrusion around the vent.

3. Valley Elevation: To accommodate the new skylight, we carefully built up the roof valley, ensuring that water would flow away from the skylight and not pool in the area.

4. Membrane Installation: We installed a modified self-adhering membrane in the roof valley and around the box housing, sealing seams and penetrations to create a watertight barrier.

5. Solar Protective Coating: To further protect the roof modifications, we applied TRC 7000 white solar protective coating to all repairs, enhancing the roof’s durability against the elements.

6. Debris Removal: Upon completion of the project, we meticulously removed all debris from the job site, leaving the property clean and safe for the client.
